Critically acclaimed for his inventiveness and comedy timing, praised for his commitment and preparation; and with a growing list of stage and screen credits to his name, Ryan has taken a big leap towards realising the dream of his 14 year old self to become a successful international actor.

Born to an English mother and a German father, Ryan grew up across both countries and speaks both languages fluently.

Aged 21 he relocated back to the UK for good and spent a life-changing year working for a homeless charity, before studying acting at London’s Drama Centre, where his fundraising efforts and determination won him the support and sponsorship of leading actors such as Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, the late Alan Rickman, and Jeremy Irons.

Since his graduation in 2010 Ryan has landed roles in both the UK and Germany; in the award-winning horror film Demon; the BFI produced short comedy To Leech, opposite Jason Watkins and Julian Rhind-Tutt; playing a British chav in the German comedy blockbuster, Abschussfahrt (Constantin Films) and a soldier in the WWII drama Another Mother’s Son, directed by BAFTA winner Christopher Menaul.

Ryan’s work has been underpinned by his love of the stage. He appeared in the physical comedy piece The Fantastical Adventures Of [Not] Being with You, to glowing reviews. Ryan has doubled up as Dogberry and Don John in Much Ado About Nothing, and played the Fool opposite the late David Ryall’s King Lear.

His versatility being recognised, Ryan was cast in two world premieres at the award-winning Arcola Theatre; Shrapnel, a bleak political drama, saw him play as a young soldier and an IT geek, while he portrayed a principled young journalist in the hit satire Clarion opposite stage icons Greg Hicks and Clare Higgins. In early 2017 Ryan played Yasha in The Cherry Orchard, his third collaboration with Artistic Director Mehmet Ergen.

In 2018 he can be seen as a lead in the UK indie feature The Redeeming, also available on Amazon Prime (Canada / US / UK). Ryan will also be on German TV as a guest lead on the poplar prime time series “Betty’s Diagnosis” and has recently been cast as a lead in a new German sitcom. He will also be continuing his work on the successful U.K. TV format NAZI MEGASTRUCTURES, playing the lead role in an upcoming episode of the new season.

Ryan also works internationally as a presenter for clients such as BMW and BOSCH and as a voice artist for BBC, Discovery US, SKY TV Germany, and Audible UK.
